In the News: Sepp Blatter’s Comments on Racism

In an interview posted on CNN.com today, FIFA President Sepp Blatter was asked if there were problems with racism in soccer. Blatter’s response was that there is no problem with racism. Watch the full video below:

Reactions from the soccer community were quick and negative. FIFA posted this response from Blatter on their website.

It’s likely that racism in soccer will continue to be a topic in the news this week. Our organization’s mission is to develop players not only physically, but mentally and emotionally as well. How can we turn these discussions to character-building opportunities? If the comments come up in conversations with your members, how will your organization handle it?
